Essential CS2 Replay Commands And Their Functions

CS2 allows players to control a lot of features of the game through commands, and for the replay feature, there are a lot of commands you can play around with. To help you get started, here are all of the most essential CS2 replay commands, and each of their functions explained in detail.

demoui

This is probably the most essential command for anyone who wants to watch replays in CS2. This command allows you to open up the UI panel for the replay feature in CS2, allowing you to control the replay.

playdemo FILE_NAME

Use this command when you want to play a specific demo file. You’ll need to know the name of the demo file you want to play and replace that name with the term “FILE_NAME” from the command.

csgo_download_match ID

Use this command when you want to download a particular match. However, similar to the previous commands, you’ll need to know the ID of the match you want to download and then replace the ID with the term “ID” from the command.

demo_gototick

If you don’t want to watch the entire replay of a particular match and want to skip straight to a particular point in the match, then you’ll need to use this command. Simply replace the term “tick” with the time stamp you wish to fast forward to, and the replay will skip to your desired moment.

demo_pause

As you might have already guessed, this command allows you to pause the replay. You can also bind this command to a particular key. That way, you won’t have to type the entire command again when you want to pause the replay.

demo_resume

You might have already guessed this one, too. For those who didn’t, this command resumes the replay. Just like the previous command, you can bind this one to a particular key to avoid typing it over and over again.

demo_timescale SPEED

If you’re the kind of person who likes to watch videos at 1.5x or even 2x speed, then this command is for you. It allows you to control how quickly the demo is played. Simply replace the term “SPEED” from the command with the number with which you want the speed of the video to be multiplied.
