The Owner Of Counter-Strike 2 The Game

Firstly, the owner of Counter-Strike 2, the game itself, is Valve Corporation. In other words, Valve Corporation, also known as Valve Software, both developed and published CS2, officially launching it on the 27th of September, 2023.

If you don’t know what Valve Corporation is, it’s an American video game developer, publisher, and digital distribution company founded by Gabe Newell. Valve Corporation is the company that developed the Steam platform, where most of the PC gaming community buys games.

The current owner of the game CS2 is Valve, which means all the rights of CS2 and all things Counter-Strike are now owned by Valve. But that wasn’t always the case. Counter-Strike originally started off as a mod for Half-Life 2 and was created by Minh “Gooseman” Le and Jess “Cliffe” Cliffe. After seeing the potential in that mod, Valve acquired the intellectual property rights from the two developers and turned the mod into an actual game, which was launched in the year 2000.

Valve bought the intellectual property rights from the original developers and plus, Valve even offered jobs to both the developers and both of them took it.
